David Popp MD, FAAP

With a strong respect for children and family values, Dr. David W. Popp chose pediatrics as his medical specialty.  An honors graduate of Baylor University, he completed his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.  As a member of the United States Air Force, he completed his pediatric residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center and continued to serve at Griffiss AFB in Rome, NY.  He returned to private practice here in San Antonio in 1991.

Dr Popp has pediatric emergency department experience in the Methodist and Santa Rosa Health Systems.  He was chief physician. in the allergy clinic at Griffiss AFB, NY. Dr. Popp has served as preceptor for the Nurse Practitioner program at UTHSC-SA and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.  He currenlty serves as Assistant Clinical Professor for the Pediatric Department at UTHSC-SA Medical School.

Dr Popp and his wife, who is a Speech Pathologist, have five children of their own.  He is active in the sound ministry at Leon Springs Baptist Church, enjoys photography, reading and crashing his computer.

Dr Popp cares for newborns at North Central, St Luke's Baptist and Methodist Hospital.


Lindsey Hawkins-Alprin MD, FAAP

Dr Hawkins-Alprin received her undergraduate degree from Baylor University and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. She then attended University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio for her medical degree completed her pediatric residency at University of Oklahoma at Tulsa. She is board certified in Pediatrics.

Dr. Hawkins-Alprin has been in private practice here in San Antonio since 2009. She and her husband, a Family Physician in San Antonio, have one son. They enjoy traveling, bird watching, and attending San Antonio Spurs basketball and Rampage hockey games.


Tiffany Ponzio MD

Dr. Tiffany Ponzio joined Leon Springs Pediatrics during the summer of 2019. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M University at College Station in 2012. She received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston and completed her pediatric residency at Baylor College of Medicine in San Antonio.

Dr. Ponzio grew up in Fredericksburg and is thrilled to be planting roots and raising her family so close to home. She and her husband, Eric Ponzio, have three young children and love to spend their free time enjoying the outdoors with their kiddos and trying out new restaurants. Dr. Ponzio uses her experience as a mother to supplement her practice as a pediatrician and believes in a team approach to the care of each child.
